Windows NetMeeting: full feature conferencing tool that supports video, audio, text, file sharing, and more. Log on to the UMES (ils.umes.edu) server.
QuickTime: download this popular media viewer.
Flash Player: Flash and shockwave plug-in players from Macromedia.

Syllabus Magazine: A rather new "technology in education" magazine, but extremely useful.

U.S.D.L.A.: The United States Distance Learning Association
D.E. ClearingHouse: Really nice site. One of the few "complete" D.E. sites.
Distance Education at a Glance: University of Idaho
Distance Educator: Site with a lot of information about distance education and distance education technology.
Microsoft in Education: web site with many resources; including resources that function with Microsoft products.
The Discovery Channel School: Nice site, extension of cable channel, has lesson plans, links, etc....
Kathy Schrock's Guide for Educators: Really one of the most useful educator sites around. Can also get to site from the Discovery Channel School site.

C-Net: technology news, help, and download site.
ZD Net: technology news, help, and download site.
winfiles.com: now a part of CNET, yet still using similar interface to one used before CNET purchase.
TechTV (formally ZDTV): recently was sold from the Ziff Davis Group to Paul Allen. TechTV produces many computer based television programs, which air on cable and satellite systems as well as over the Internet.
